Ninfield Flower Group

Ninfield Flower Group was formed in 1977 and now has about 60 members.   It is a friendly, active, Flower Group, holding monthly meetings with a variety of topics: demonstrations, classes and workshops.  The Group designs and stages flower festivals ,raising money for various charities.

The most recent Festival was held over the  2009 August Bank Holiday in Ninfield Memorial Hall;  entitled Women of Substance, the main charity was  Breast Cancer Care..  At the  annual Christmas Demonstration, Sue Bolton representing Breast Cancer Care, was delighted to accept a cheque for £2500 from Ninfield Flower Group’s Chairman Christine Purkess , expressing her thanks for the very welcome donation.

This charity was also the main charity for the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies (NAFAS) which celebrated its golden jubiliee in 2009.  To mark the celebrations, Ninfield Flower Group joined many other groups and created a ‘golden ribbon of flowers’ throughout the United Kingdon and arrangements were to be found throughout Ninfield as well as Catsfield, Windmill Hill and Bexhill.

The Group is affiliated to Sussex Area of NAFAS
